Taking pictures at Annunciation Catholic College in south Minneapolis triggers large police response; shooter contained

As many as 20 individuals had been injured in a taking pictures at Annunciation Catholic College in south Minneapolis Wednesday morning, in line with two federal legislation enforcement sources. 

Sources inform CBS Information that the shooter died of an obvious self-iinflicted gunshot wound.

The taking pictures triggered an enormous legislation enforcement response at 54th Road between Harriet and Garfield avenues. Minneapolis police mentioned there isn’t a lively menace to the general public.

Federal sources say the shooter, a person, was carrying all black and carrying a rifle. Authorities are trying to find any further weapons.

The taking pictures began round 8:45 a.m. In accordance to a college schedule, there was an all-school mass at 8:15 a.m. 

Authorities added that the general public is suggested to steer clear of the realm of West 54th Road between Lyndale and Nicollet avenues. Households of youngsters on the faculty can go to a reunification space at Annunciation College on 525 West 54th Road.

A number of businesses, together with the FBI, state patrol and Minneapolis police are on the scene. 

Gov. Tim Walz mentioned he had been briefed on the taking pictures.

“I am praying for our youngsters and lecturers whose first week of college was marred by this horrific act of violence,” Walz mentioned.

President Donald Trump wrote on TruthSocial that he has been “absolutely briefed on the tragic taking pictures in Minneapolis, Minnesota.”

“The FBI rapidly responded and they’re on the scene. The White Home will proceed to observe this horrible scenario. Please be a part of me in praying for everybody concerned,” he mentioned.
