Union is the corporate behind Flyte, an open-source orchestration software used to run advanced machine studying and knowledge workflows. Union is positioning itself as broader “AI growth infrastructure” — masking orchestration in addition to items equivalent to coaching, inference, and observability — aimed toward serving to engineering groups transfer from experimentation to manufacturing quicker.
“Constructing AI requires a basically totally different method than conventional software program, and engineering groups are actually embracing that,” CEO Ketan Umare stated in a press release.
Extra from the corporate’s publish on LinkedIn:
This funding comes at an inflection level for AI: engineering groups are discovering that legacy software program infrastructure and devtools wrestle to deal with AI growth. They had been designed for fundamental and deterministic processes of conventional knowledge workflows, not for the non-deterministic processes of AI workflows, which count on brokers to adapt and recuperate from failure at runtime. Union.ai is constructing the brand new class of AI growth infrastructure. Engineering groups can develop dynamic, sturdy AI workflows and brokers whereas dramatically lowering time spent sustaining brittle pipelines.
The startup says income grew 3X in 2025, and its buyer base expanded 2.6X. Union’s clients embrace Spotify, HederaDx, Carfax, Hopper, and others.
The corporate says the spherical helps the industrial launch of Union 2.0 and continued growth of Flyte 2, together with “pure Python” authoring, improved debugging, runtime decision-making, and crash-resilient workflows.
Umare helped develop the underlying know-how for Flyte whereas he was an engineer at Lyft. He beforehand labored at Amazon and Oracle. He co-founded Union.ai in 2020 with Haytham Abuelfutuh.
