To the editor: The excellent article concerning the penalties of slicing healthcare subsidies is heartbreaking (“The lack of healthcare subsidies drive Californians to pay extra or go with out,” Feb. 6).
The person tales of what persons are going by means of after Congress narrowly voted to permit enhanced federal subsidies for the Reasonably priced Care Act to run out are surprising. Simply so billionaires can get much more favorable tax remedy.
The rat’s nest of our insanely advanced and more and more unaffordable insurance coverage system doesn’t must exist. No different high-income nation places its individuals by means of such pointless actual struggling.
It doesn’t must be like this.
Because the closing remark within the article states, we’d like a common system of unified public financing — increasing Medicare to cowl everybody. Sufficient is sufficient.
