To the editor: One other newspaper article that makes me baffled, horrified and sick to my abdomen over a choice by the Trump administration (“Trump slashes wildlife protections, placing endangered California animals in danger,” July 11). Now the Endangered Species Act (a legislation to defend endangered crops and animals) will permit for the destruction of wildlife habitats. In what world does this make sense?

Apparently, these protections bought in the best way of logging, mining and drilling pursuits and needed to go. In peril are our California condors, humpback whales, noticed owls and numerous (for now) others. We must be staunch protectors of the environment in order that present and future generations have a thriving and liveable world, not ravaging fools hellbent on some shortsighted and misguided targets.

Maxine Colin, Arroyo Grande

..

To the editor: How does this administration discover there’s no hurt in species which are already endangered dropping their habitat, their house? In redefining the that means of “hurt,” they present that the one metric that counts to them is how a lot cash they will wring from a spot, and that achieve goes to only some.

If most of these extraordinarily rich folks misplaced a house, they may transfer to a different. These species can’t do this. They’ve already misplaced a lot territory to folks. Now local weather change is inflicting erratic climate patterns which are pushing them to the sting of survival.

Simply as there are answers to mitigate local weather change, there are answers to assist imperiled wildlife. A major treatment is to vote out these self-centered, money-hungry politicians this November. They aren’t working to make our lives higher. Please vote for candidates who’re looking on your — and our valuable wildlife’s — greatest pursuits.
