To the editor: This text highlights Central Altadena Little League’s comeback season following the devastation of the 2025 Eaton wildfire (“After the L.A. fires, Altadena’s Little League nearly folded. Then, they’d the season of a lifetime,” Might 13). It’s an admirable story, and my coronary heart goes out to all the youngsters and households who misplaced their properties and the whole lot they owned, together with all that baseball gear.
However it will have been good for the Los Angeles Instances to acknowledge that Altadena is dwelling to 2 Little Leagues. Whereas not almost as devastated, the East Altadena Little League’s children and households have been removed from immune from the wildfire’s path. Many misplaced their properties or have been displaced for months, counting on one another, or the assistance of company donors, for baseball gear and assist throughout that spring season.
For our youngsters, baseball was a reprieve from the devastation of their properties or, in some circumstances, their colleges — all of which have been in Altadena.
