To the editor: I loved studying the current article in regards to the enhancements alongside the L.A. River and the way it has more and more change into an open-area surroundings of recreation and escape from our crowded city setting (“As L.A. River morphs into impromptu stage for nature-loving musicians, gentrification fears stay,” July 13).

One of many joys of Los Angeles, for me, is using my seaside cruiser bike alongside the almost 10-mile stretch on the south aspect of the river, which has a lighted asphalt highway from the Victory Boulevard overpass in Burbank to the I-5 freeway overpass. You may simply journey on from there to downtown L.A. In between, town has in recent times created parks and allowed good eating places to open, with nice leisure popping up. This has additionally introduced on the inevitable house owner gentrification, for good or in any other case.

The answer for coping with low-income residents being displaced from the river space is clearly for town to create inexpensive housing there, which sadly doesn’t appear to be excessive on its record of priorities.
