President Trump has submitted plans plans to color the Eisenhower Government Workplace Constructing white to a bunch that advises on structure in Washington, D.C.
The French Second Empire-style, slate-gray constructing homes workplace house for members of the president’s crew, together with the Nationwide Safety Council.

The constructing sits throughout a driveway from the West Wing and was accomplished in 1888. The plans submitted by the president say that the Eisenhower Government Workplace Constructing is an eyesore that has lengthy been criticized and has fallen into disrepair since its completion. The plans say “the colour, design, and massing of the prevailing construction doesn’t align visually with the encompassing structure and lacks any symbolic cohesion with the White Home.” The plan factors to examples of cracks and poor exterior upkeep and argues, “The profit to portray the stone is that it’s repeatable.”
“The lack to carry the stone facade again to a baseline colour has plagued the upkeep of the [Executive Office Building] prior to now, and and can proceed to plague it if not addressed,” the plan says.
The plans included renderings of what the constructing would appear like if it is painted white.
The Government Workplace of the President submitted a design proposal to the Fee of High quality Arts, a panel of Trump appointees who advise on public structure and design within the nation’s capital.
The CFA will hear a presentation on the plan on April 16.
