Prime Video has unveiled first-look trailer for its upcoming drama collection The Girlfriend, led by Robin Wright and Olivia Cooke.
The six-part collection will premiere worldwide on September 10, streaming in over 240 nations and territories.
The solid options Wright as Laura, Cooke as Cherry, Laurie Davidson as Daniel, Waleed Zuaiter as Howard, Tanya Moodie as Isabella, Shalom Brune-Franklin as Brigitte, Karen Henthorn as Tracey, Anna Chancellor as Lilith, Leo Suter as Nicholas, and Francesca Corney as Millie.
Tailored from Michelle Frances’ best-selling novel, the story follows Laura (Wright), a girl who seems to have all of it—a thriving profession, a loyal husband, and a cherished son, Daniel. However when Daniel introduces his new girlfriend Cherry (Cooke), Laura’s seemingly excellent life begins to crack. Their uneasy first assembly leaves Laura suspicious that Cherry is hiding one thing sinister. Is Cherry a crafty social climber, or is Laura merely imagining the worst? The reply is dependent upon whose aspect you consider.
Produced by Imaginarium Productions in partnership with Amazon MGM Studios, the collection is dropped at life by producers Jonathan Cavendish and Caroline Norris, with government producers Wright, Will Tennant, Phil Robertson, John Zois, Dave Clarke, Gabbie Asher, and Frances.
The psychological thriller has been tailored for tv by Naomi Sheldon and Gabbie Asher, with writing contributions from Sheldon, Asher, Polly Cavendish, Helen Kingston, Marek Horn, Ava Wong Davies, Isis Davis, Smita Bhide, and Matt Evans.
