To the editor: Thanks, columnist Jackie Calmes, on your astute rendering of the present state of affairs in our nation’s Supreme Courtroom (“The Supreme Courtroom’s deference to Trump is astounding,” June 26). Maybe it’s time to ship a phrase of warning to the bulk voice. Recalling mid-century historical past — notably in Europe — one might level to judicial actions occurring in Nuremberg, Germany, in 1945-46. Not solely had been perpetrators of warfare crimes on trial; these within the judiciary had been as properly.
