At the moment, we’re revis­it­ing a clas­sic Mon­ty Python skit. The scene is the 1972 Munich Olympics. The occasion is a soccer/soccer match, pit­ting Ger­man philoso­phers towards Greek philoso­phers. On the one aspect, the Ger­mans — Hegel, Niet­zsche, Kant, Marx and, um, Franz Beck­en­bauer. On the oth­er aspect, Archimedes, Socrates, Pla­to and the remainder of the gang. The ref­er­ee? Con­fu­cius. After all.
