To the editor: Contributing author Veronique de Rugy claims that the federal authorities has a “spending habit” that’s inflicting financial points (“Trump’s Fed battle isn’t like his different political tussles,” July 23). That’s not it, although — it’s extra like a debt habit. Drastically slicing income to supply tax aid for the wealthiest People makes for larger debt, which then requires cuts to important providers that assist lower-earning households. However voters want, need and worth these providers, so Congress received’t have the ability to match the lack of income with equal or larger cuts within the important providers. It’s time for voters to get up to this.
