To the editor: I’m actually aghast and shaking in my bed room slippers as I learn this text this morning (“Justice Division drafting a listing of ‘home terrorists,’” Dec. 11). On daily basis I say it might’t get any worse and on daily basis, I get one other shock.
Now President Trump desires neighbors to rat on neighbors (oh sure, like in Cuba) — and receives a commission for it. Nice. What is going to this appear like? Will my neighbor (or my baby) have the ability to make a couple of bucks by reporting me for supporting the transgender child subsequent door or the Muslim child in my neighborhood, or for attending a rally defending immigrants? So long as I voice help for Christianity (in keeping with protection of the memo, Jews aren’t protected), my neighbor can’t make a buck off me?
I might have sworn that that is precisely the kind of authoritarianism we oppose throughout the globe. Isn’t this what occurs in these nations our immigrants fled that we’re cruelly making an attempt to ship them again to? Isn’t this the sort of authorities we’re opposing in Venezuela (after all, it’s not in regards to the oil)?
Recalling the McCarthy hearings, I have to ask our Republican representatives, “Have you ever no decency?” When, expensive God, will you rise up and say “sufficient is sufficient”? I weep.

To the editor: It wasn’t sufficient for Trump to unveil a United States nationwide safety technique that aligns with Russia’s imaginative and prescient and switch his again on our longtime allies in Europe. No, now he’ll inform our residents to show in anybody they believe of being a home terrorist for a monetary reward.
This mirrors what occurred in Joseph Stalin’s Russia, the place “mutual surveillance” was practiced and hundreds of harmless individuals had been reported to authorities by fellow residents. Is that this actually what we need to see occur in America? And can the Proud Boys and different far-right teams that help Trump be included on this roundup?

To the editor: I’m of no explicit faith, no hardcore politics. I stay in a pleasant surroundings and have finished numerous international journey. I’ve gotten two parking tickets and have by no means been arrested. I’m principally fairly bland, however I’ve steadily grow to be increasingly upset over the previous few months over what’s taking place inside our nation and internationally.
Now I’m actually afraid. Afraid for myself, maybe, as a result of I do have opinions, most likely learn frowned-upon books, have quite a lot of buddies, search on-line for info on many matters and have joined a peaceable demonstration. And afraid for the entire numerous individuals from many backgrounds with many opinions who’re exhausting employees — for all of us who’ve certainly made this nation nice.
The place has respect for and understanding of our Declaration of Independence, our Structure, constitutional regulation and its historical past gone? The place has simply plain outdated respect for and acceptance of variations gone? I could not agree with everybody, however I’m not going to report anybody and I hope nobody studies me.

To the editor: So we’re speculated to report different Individuals who would possibly pose a menace? How a couple of man whose sweeping pardon launched tons of of Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol rioters from jail? Or a man who simply freed a drug kingpin convicted of conspiring to convey greater than 400 tons of cocaine into America?
FBI Director Kash Patel, his identify is Donald J. Trump. Please ship me my reward.
