As U.S. producers scramble to fill a whole bunch of 1000’s of open jobs, China is doubling down on its bid to change into the world’s workshop, and business specialists say the stakes couldn’t be greater.

Ford CEO Jim Farley echoed the priority, warning the U.S. is “in a struggle for manufacturing” as China quickly expands its industrial capability.

“We’ve about 400,000 those who we’d like,” Farley stated.

“At Ford this morning, we had 6,000 stalls open with no mechanics in them to repair our automobiles.”

The roles are getting extra complicated and require better technical talent and innovation, he added — a problem a significant firm like Ford can probably overcome. However severe issues stay for smaller companies.
