Arizona’s state Senate president says he has complied with a subpoena he acquired final week in search of information from a flawed evaluation of the 2020 election in Maricopa County.
“Late final week I acquired and complied with a federal grand jury subpoena for information regarding the Arizona State Senate’s 2020 audit of Maricopa County,” Warren Petersen, a Republican, wrote on X on Monday. “The FBI has the information.”
The FBI has not instantly responded to NPR’s request for remark.
Jason Berry, a spokesperson for the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors, instructed member station KJZZ it hasn’t acquired a subpoena.
“Maricopa County runs elections in accordance with the legislation. Now we have not acquired a subpoena at the moment however will cooperate if that had been to happen,” Berry stated.
The Maricopa County recorder’s workplace additionally stated it hadn’t acquired a subpoena and referred inquiries to the state Senate president.
