ATLANTA (AP) — Police have been responding Friday to a report of an energetic shooter on the campus of Emory College in Atlanta, close to the doorway to the U.S. Facilities for Illness Management and Prevention.
Atlanta police didn’t instantly say whether or not anybody was injured within the capturing. The college warned college students and others on the campus to shelter in place, writing “RUN, HIDE, FIGHT” in an alert on its web site.
Police autos continued to reach from metro Atlanta businesses as a warning siren continued to sound.
“We’re horrified by the information out of Emory College and praying for the security of all the campus group,” Georgia Legal professional Common Chris Carr stated.
Workers at a deli close to campus locked the doorways and hunkered down inside. Brandy Giraldo, Common Muir’s chief working officer, stated staffers inside heard a string of gunshots.
“It appeared like fireworks going off, one proper after the opposite,” she stated.
This story has been corrected to point out the deli’s title is spelled Common Muir, not Common Miur.
