To the editor: I learn the article about Sen. Scott Wiener’s (D-San Francisco) proposed laws to ban Immigration and Customs Enforcement and different regulation enforcement officers from sporting masks (“Proposed invoice would ban ICE brokers, regulation enforcement from sporting masks in California,” June 16). Whereas he’s at it, Wiener also needs to broaden his laws to incorporate vital penalties for officers who violate the regulation by failing to inform folks why they’re being arrested and by failing to supply them with copies of authorized arrest warrants, signed by a decide. There are scores of movies on social media documenting these unlawful practices by ICE brokers and whoever accompanies them in these arrests. There must be critical penalties for regulation enforcement officers (and their contractors) who violate the regulation in California. Nobody is above the regulation, together with ICE.
