A person has been arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting an 84-year-old Santa Monica lady.
Within the incident earlier this month, the girl was heard screaming for assist after the 39-year-old man dragged her into an alley, Santa Monica police stated Tuesday.
Police responded at about 9:30 p.m. June 5 to the cries of the girl close to the intersection of Wilshire Boulevard and sixth Road, the police assertion stated.
“Upon arrival, officers positioned an 84-year-old Santa Monica resident who seemed to be in misery,” police stated. “The sufferer reported that she was approached and grabbed from behind by a male suspect who then dragged her into a close-by alley and tried to sexually assault her.”
The division stated there have been a number of witnesses on the scene who backed up the girl’s assertion and informed officers the suspect fled to the north. Police have been capable of finding and detain the suspect at fifth Road and California Avenue.
The suspect, Pape Tall of Lengthy Seaside, has been charged by the Los Angeles County district legal professional’s workplace with felony counts, together with assault with intent to commit rape and kidnapping with intent to commit rape, police stated.
Tall was charged on June 9. He’s being held at Males’s Central Jail in downtown Los Angeles with out bail. His subsequent court docket date is scheduled for July 9 on the Airport Courthouse close to Los Angeles Worldwide Airport.
