Germany plans to determine an airlift to ship humanitarian help to the Gaza Strip with the assist of Jordan, Chancellor Friedrich Merz stated on Monday.

The operation is about to start “instantly,” he stated following a gathering of the Safety Cupboard in Berlin.

Defence Minister Boris Pistorius will work carefully with France and the UK, each of which have expressed willingness to hitch the trouble to move meals and help, Merz stated.

“We all know this will solely be a small assist for the folks in Gaza,” the chancellor stated. “However not less than it’s a contribution that we’re glad to make.”

Extreme shortages of meals and water in Gaza have prompted warnings from UN companies of “catastrophic starvation” and the chance of imminent famine within the sealed-off Palestinian territory.

Jordan has served as a key hub for humanitarian help deliveries to Gaza and has parachuted meals into the territory for the previous two days.
