The Federal Aviation Administration is ordering airways to certify their merit-based hiring practices as a part of the Trump administration’s ongoing marketing campaign towards DEI packages.
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy introduced the brand new coverage on Friday, saying airways that do not formally decide to merit-based hiring can be topic to FAA investigation. President Donald Trump ordered federal businesses to cancel DEI hiring packages early on in his return to the White Home.

Trump’s FAA mocked the route the company had taken underneath former President Joe Biden, calling the insurance policies “absurd” and saying they “wasted time renaming cockpits to flight decks.”
Trump has moved to systematically dismantle DEI packages throughout the federal authorities, signing a pair of govt orders in his first days in workplace that directed businesses to determine and shut down DEI workplaces, terminate equity-focused grants and contracts, and throw out long-standing affirmative motion necessities for federal contractors.
