To the editor: I waited in line for hours at Metropolis Corridor to say my piece in regards to the gondola, solely to be shut down (“Los Angeles Metropolis Council votes 12-1 to induce Metro to halt Dodgers gondola venture,” Nov. 12).
Like a lot of my neighbors, I confirmed up as a result of this venture means one thing to us: much less site visitors on our streets, cleaner air for our youngsters and higher entry between our neighborhood in Chinatown to Union Station and Dodger Stadium.
This isn’t about “shiny renderings.” It’s about actual individuals who reside season after season with game-day congestion, unsafe streets and an absence of funding in our neighborhood. It’s about lastly doing one thing that helps individuals who truly reside right here.
We ought to be working collectively to make it occur, not shutting it down for political factors.
