I first met Joan Kennedy within the early ’60s after I was requested to escort her via a Boston press celebration and introduce her round, which I did. Senator Ted Kennedy was to reach later.

I discovered her to be pleasant, heat, witty, and engaging. Though not a pleasant insider or an intimate — removed from it — I met her typically on the marketing campaign path with Ted or at one of many events he used to throw for the press on the Kennedy compound in Hyannis.
