Lykke Li has launched a brand new single, ‘Knife within the Coronary heart’, from her forthcoming album The Afterparty. In a press launch, she described it as “my brutalist nursery rhyme anthem – the emo woman in me, absolutely unleashed.” Test it out under.
“I had my son and his buddy sing the choruses as a result of the juxtaposition of their voices in opposition to the EBow simply created such a strong sonic panorama, someplace I’ve by no means actually been earlier than,” Li added. “A world completely collapsing in entrance of us and all we actually have left is our humanity. My dream is to listen to a complete soccer stadium chanting: ‘This Life This Life is a Knife within the Coronary heart.’ To me, a fairly correct description of what it feels prefer to be alive proper now.”
Billed as her last album, The Afterparty is about for launch on Could 8. It follows 2022’s EYEYE.
