ANTIOCH – A 3-year-old lady was reunited along with her pet, a Christmas reward, after it was stolen Dec. 26 in Antioch, police mentioned.
The kid’s household was purchasing at Goal on Lone Tree Approach round 3 p.m. after they have been approached by the suspects – a 21-year-old girl and a 20-year-old man – who complimented them on the pet, a 10-week-old Yorkshire terrier named Tinkerbell, Antioch police Lt. Gary Lowther mentioned in a information launch Tuesday.
The pair then took the pet from the household and left the world in a automobile, Lowther mentioned.
An investigation led to the identification of the suspects and their car, Lowther mentioned.
On Dec. 27, a police officer noticed the automobile touring by town and performed a visitors cease, Lowther mentioned, including that the car was towed as a part of the investigation.
The suspects went to the police station later that day to retrieve the automobile and have been arrested on warrants associated to the pet theft, Lowther mentioned. They have been booked into Contra Costa County jail on fees of grand theft of an animal, theft by false pretenses and conspiracy.
An officer realized the situation of the pet, which was recovered and reunited along with her homeowners.
Lowther mentioned the investigation is ongoing.
