President Donald Trump ramped up strain on Venezuela Tuesday by asserting that he’s ordering a blockade of all “sanctioned oil tankers” getting into and leaving the South American nation.

“Venezuela is totally surrounded by the most important Armada ever assembled within the Historical past of South America,” Trump wrote on Fact Social. “It can solely get greater, and the shock to them will probably be like nothing they’ve ever seen earlier than — Till such time as they return to america of America all the Oil, Land, and different Belongings that they beforehand stole from us.”

He then added that he’s “ordering A TOTAL AND COMPLETE BLOCKADE OF ALL SANCTIONED OIL TANKERS going into, and out of, Venezuela,” arguing that Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro’s authorities is utilizing oil income to finance illicit operations together with “drug terrorism.”
