MANILA, Philippines – Six journalists, together with Rappler’s senior reporters Lian Buan and Dwight de Leon, be a part of the panel of the distinguished Jaime V. Ongpin Journalism Seminar 2025 on Thursday, November 27.
The occasion will deal with “radical adjustments within the panorama of stories and the way forward for journalism,” in line with a press launch by the Heart for Media Freedom and Accountability (CMFR), which mounts the seminar.
Buan and de Leon are joined by Cristina Chi of on-line information outlet Philstar.com, former Philippine Heart for Investigative Journalism govt director and ex-Rappler reporter Carmela Fonbuena, TV5 chief information and elections head Edson Guido, and Dominic Gutoman of other information publication Bulatlat.
JVOJS is called after the late Jaime V. Ongpin, the press freedom advocate who opposed the excesses of the Ferdinand E. Marcos regime and later grew to become Corazon Aquino’s finance secretary.
