To the editor: Am I the one one who sees an impending catastrophe if Los Angeles Worldwide Airport goes forward with its “roadway enchancment” plan (“LAX permitted $1.5 billion to alleviate site visitors. Opponents say it received’t work,” Nov. 15)?
The horseshoe (the worst a part of LAX’s site visitors issues) is not going to be improved. There are many educated individuals, a few of whom spoke for this text, who assume that this plan is not going to work. And maybe most significantly, the venture as proposed is scheduled to be accomplished a mere two months earlier than the Olympics. Simply take a look at the yet-to-be-completed Automated Individuals Mover, which is over price range and method overdue.
Additionally word that one of many major contractors on this proposed venture is identical firm that’s chargeable for the delayed Individuals Mover. This isn’t going to prove properly.
