Germany’s Federal Prison Police and Interpol have joined the investigation into the jewel heist on the Louvre.

Each companies on Tuesday launched a photograph of the stolen objects and requested for public help in recovering the treasures. Interpol has added the Parisian jewels to its database of stolen artwork, which incorporates round 57,000 objects.

The theft on October 19, which noticed eight crown jewels valued at an estimated €88 million ($102 million) taken by thieves disguised as development staff, has prompted outrage and drawn sharp criticism of safety on the world-famous museum.

Laurent Lafon, head of the French Senate’s Tradition Fee, referred to as for pressing enhancements. “We’re coping with a safety group that doesn’t meet the expectations one might need for a museum,” Lafon mentioned after visiting the Louvre on Tuesday, citing the necessity for upgrades, together with video surveillance.
