President Donald Trump introduced Saturday that the U.S. will impose an extra 10% tariff on Canadian imports, citing a “fraudulent commercial” that includes former President Ronald Reagan talking out towards tariffs.

Trump claimed that the advert, which aired throughout the World Collection that started Friday, was a part of Canada’s “hope that the US Supreme Court docket will come to their ‘rescue’ on Tariffs that they’ve used for years to harm the US.”

The Ronald Reagan Presidential Basis and Institute is exploring authorized choices in response to the incident, in line with Trump.

The announcement follows simply days after the President stated he was terminating commerce negotiations with Canada as a result of commercial.

Earlier this month, Trump defended his use of tariffs as a corrective to what he known as years of commerce imbalance, saying that the US had been “the king of being screwed by tariffs” however would not permit different nations to use it.

“We are the king of being screwed by tariffs,” Trump stated throughout a bilateral assembly with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney within the Oval Workplace.
