4 NBA groups have been named as having video games concerned within the FBI’s sweeping investigation into unlawful playing.
The Charlotte Hornets, Portland Path Blazers, Los Angeles Lakers and Toronto Raptors have been all named within the indictment, Joseph Nocella Jr., the US lawyer for the Jap District of New York, advised reporters.
The multimillion-dollar scheme, which befell between January 2022 and March 2024, allegedly concerned sharing private info with bettors, together with when gamers could be sitting out video games or would pull themselves early from video games.
The groups themselves aren’t implicated in wrongdoing, however gamers and coaches — each present and former — are accused of offering “private info” to assist insiders make profitable prop bets on NBA video games.
