A live-action scripted TV sequence impressed by Mattel’s iconic Magic 8 Ball is being developed by M. Night time Shyamalan (recognized for The Sixth Sense, Break up, Indicators), Emmy winner Brad Falchuk (Glee, American Horror Story, Pose), and Mattel Studios.
The mission was first revealed by Mattel and Shyamalan on Instagram.
Per the official description, the sequence, co-created by Shyamalan and Falchuk, will “reimagine the Magic 8 Ball as the point of interest of a high-concept, character-driven supernatural drama, weaving psychological depth with cultural intrigue.”
Shyamalan will direct, co-create, and co-showrun the sequence, whereas Falchuk will write, co-create, and co-showrun.
