A number of suspects are in custody after a police officer was injured in a capturing at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention facility in Alvarado, Texas, within the late-night hours of the Fourth of July, officers stated. 

Simply earlier than 11 p.m., the Alvarado Police Division stated it was known as to the 1200 block of Sunflower Lane, exterior the ICE Prairieland Detention Facility, on a report of a suspicious particular person. Alvarado police stated that when one of many first responding officers tried to have interaction with the particular person, an unknown variety of suspects opened fireplace. At the least one bullet struck an officer within the neck, police stated.

The injured officer was flown from the scene to a Fort Price hospital, was handled and later launched, Alvarado police stated.
